Nuclear medicine is the use of radioactive substances to help diagnose and treat patients. At PHU we provide services to our renal and oncology patients, nuclear medicine imaging and theatres.
Some of the tests and therapy we carry out include:

Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) – for measure of kidney function

Treatment for thyroid cancer

Relief of bone pain in patients with prostate cancer

Pain relief of arthritic joints
We also provide radiation protect advice to patients in staff involved with radioactive material.
