Work to upgrade two bus shelters outside the Main Entrance at Queen Alexandra Hospital will begin on Monday 28 September.

The shelters will be upgraded one at a time, with the work expected to take up to three days in total.

A temporary bus stop will be available while each shelter is being worked on and all bus services will continue to run as usual. A representative will be on hand to help passengers and answer any questions during the works. There may be some disruption and a reduced waiting area for passengers while the work takes place.

The new shelters will provide improved energy-efficient lighting, seating and passenger information, as well as living roofs. The work forms part of wider improvements to bus stops on high-volume routes across Portsmouth, led by Portsmouth City Council through the local Bus Service Improvement Plan.

It also supports our Green Plan by helping to improve sustainable transport facilities for staff, patients and visitors.
