Thanks to the hard work of our teams and support from our patients and communities, we are now able to lift the visiting restrictions and allow visiting to return to normal in all adult care areas from today (Tuesday 6 May 2025).
From today (Tuesday 6 May 2025) the following guidance applies:
- Visiting an adult inpatient: visiting has returned to normal across all our adult inpatient wards.
- Attending outpatient appointments: we continue to encourage patients to attend alone or with just one person.
- Emergency Department: we continue to ask that patients to attend alone or with just one person, as per normal guidance
- Children (NICU and Paediatrics)/maternity and birthing partners: no changes were introduced.
Thank you to everyone for your support in helping us to bring cases of Norovirus down at QA Hospital.
We continue to ask for your support in reminding people about the importance of reducing contact with others if someone is experiencing Norovirus symptoms, not visiting hospitals or care homes until they are free from Norovirus symptoms for at least 48 hours and to only use the Emergency Department for genuine medical emergencies.
