As part of a project to make our sites more environmentally friendly and reduce energy costs, we are about to start work to install additional solar panels across our sites including a section of the main entrance car park at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

So that this work can be carried out safely, we will be temporarily closing a section of the car park and relocating a number of blue badge/accessible spaces to elsewhere on site.

From Monday 23 March, the section marked in red on the below image will be closed for around 12 weeks whilst this work takes place. We know that this may be of concern to anyone planning to visit who would usually use these spaces, so are relocating some spaces to the adjacent area on the same level. This will be made clear through temporary signage.

Access and use of spaces within the North Car Park, as well as on-road parking along Pasteur Road (apart from that shown on the image), Hunter Road and Nightingale Road will remain available throughout.

So that equipment can be safely moved in and out of the area, there will be periods of road closure while work takes place. We will share details of any planned disruption on our website and social media ahead of these happening.

The drop off area outside the main entrance is open as usual. During this time, if possible, please consider using other ways to travel to your appointment such as bus or getting dropped off to reduce the number of cars remaining on-site.

We understand the impact this will have on our patients and visitors and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to be a more efficient and sustainable organisation.
