A new long-term study led by Birkbeck University of London and the Medical Schools Council has been featured by Channel 4 News at Queen Alexandra Hospital.
The study aims to explore why doctors appear to have lower rates of chronic illness than the general population, despite often experiencing high levels of stress, and how improving wellbeing could help retain doctors within the NHS.
As part of the feature, Channel 4 News visited Queen Alexandra Hospital, where medical students taking part in the study were filmed during a surgery placement.
The research is expected to provide valuable insight into the health and wellbeing of the medical workforce and support future work to improve staff experience across the NHS.
