This week, we proudly celebrated Allied Health Professions (AHP) Day, recognising the invaluable contributions of our AHP colleagues across the organisation. From ODPs, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, to radiographers, dietitians and more, AHPs play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care every day.
To mark the occasion, we met a few of our different AHPs to showcase some of the incredible individuals. A big thank you to them, and to all our AHPs, for your dedication, innovation, and unwavering commitment to patient care.
Ruth Groome - Diagnostic Radiographer
No two days are the same for Ruth, with a mix of outpatient X-rays, theatre imaging, ward-based portable scans, and more. Ruth highlights the exciting training opportunities now available, such as apprenticeships, which are helping to shape the next generation of radiographers. With many pathways to progress in areas like reporting, mammography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and much more, it's an inspiring time to be in diagnostic imaging.
Juliette Kite - Occupational Therapist
Juliette splits her role between QAH and St Mary's. At QA, Juliet works with surgical, renal and oncology patients, focusing on discharge planning and supporting amputees by coordinating equipment and home adaptations. At St Mary's she supports children with limb differences and helps adults return to work through prosthetic training and workplace assessments. Juliette values the variety in her role and the chance to support patients through their recovery.
Aimee Osmond - Sonographer
Aimee plays a vital role in performing ultrasound scans for both inpatients and outpatients across general, obstetrics and gynaecology areas. She is committed to providing accessible imaging services within the community, and values the face-to-face time with patients, which allows her to make a meaningful difference in their care and outcomes. She enjoys working across different sites and the variety of scanning specialties, constantly learning and improving her skills.
Lauren White - Paediatric Diabetes Dietitian
Lauren plays a vital role in supporting children and young people with diabetes, working across both hospital and community settings. Her days range from providing education to newly diagnosed patients on the ward, to home and school visits to offer dietary advice and support. She loves the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients and their families, supporting them with a range of dietary needs beyond diabetes.
