On Monday 16 June, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU) transitioned to NHS.net. This includes moving your email, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint into the NHS.net central digital platform and providing you with a NHS.net email address.
What do I need to do on Switchover Day?
On Monday 16 June, you will be able to login to your computer/laptop as usual and will be required to complete a form which will take you through step-by-step instructions on how to switch to your NHS.net account.
Complete the switchover form here.
Following Switchover Day, please be aware of the following:
- All data across your porthosp Office 365 applications will become ‘read only.’ This includes your Outlook emails, OneDrive files, intranet sites, etc.
- In the Outlook desktop app, you will initially only be able to see up to two weeks' worth of emails. This is due to the volume of emails that need to be migrated across the Trust. To view your entire history of emails, please use NHSmail Outlook online. This is only a temporary measure. You will begin to see all of your emails in the Outlook desktop app in the coming weeks.
- Your display name will change and will no longer include your job title. For example, your name will appear as ‘First name, surname (Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust)’. This is standard and cannot be changed.
- From switchover day, auto-forwarding will be enabled, meaning any new emails to your old porthosp email will be automatically forwarded to your NHS.net email. This will be in place for up to six months.
- You may not be able to see Teams channels that have not been recently accessed on Monday morning. This delay is due to the volume of Teams data we are migrating. However, these Teams channels should appear over the following days.
- To assist with managing both porthosp and NHS.net identities in your browser, we advise using separate browsers to access different profiles – Edge for NHS.net and Chrome for porthosp. To sync your NHS.net with the default Edge browser, you will need to log out of your porthosp account in Edge and log on with your NHS.net on Switchover Day.
If you do not have time to complete the form or need quick access to your data, you can log in to your NHS.net account online via NHSmail.
