Sophie is a yoga teacher based in Waterlooville who also works with us in PHU. She discovered yoga as a way to help ease the symptoms of her physically demanding job. She found that regular yoga practice helpes with any aches and pains but also improves her mental health and wellbeing. Please have a look at this great video from Sophie or check out her Youtube Channel or Website and join us in some great Yoga!

Cycle to Work Scheme
Cycling is a great form of exercise and the Trust has a range of cycle storage options for those who wish to cycle to work.
Staff are able to purchase bikes through salary sacrifice over a 12 month period.
Subject to qualifying criteria, all employees will be able to sign up to the scheme in order to obtain bicycles and safety equipment saving 32% (basic rate tax payer).
Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust are partnering with CycleScheme to offer this benefit. The tax exemption applies on bicycles and safety equipment, up to a limit of £4,949, as long as the bicycles are used mainly for journeys made by you between your home and place of work. The scheme will work by having the bike and equipment cost deducted from your gross salary.
Cyclescheme has a step-step guide on their website, letting you know how easy it is to apply - http://www.cyclescheme.co.uk/getting-a-bike. Cyclescheme are partnered with over 2000 stores and online stores across the UK.
You can check your savings, find your local CycleScheme Partner Store, and request your certificate at the following address: www.cyclescheme.co.uk/5e1242
It is only £2 a month to hire a bike locker – a much cheaper way to commute to work. The scheme is open all year round for you to apply.
Whether you fancy treating yourself, getting ready for a bout of riding in the summer, or just trying to ease some of the financial pressures that driving to work everyday can bring, riding a bike makes a lot of sense. For more information please contact Gemma.spencer@porthosp.nhs.uk. Ext 3333
