Messages for loved ones and keeping in touch

We recognise the impact that a long stay in hospital can have on families and the importance of maintaining strong communication.  Our ward staff are keeping in touch with patients’ next of kin directly and our Voluntary Services team can help pass on personal messages from family and friends.

After suspending visiting earlier in the year, we are now able to offer limited visiting to some wards at the discretion of the nurse in-charge.”

Southsea parkrun

We've teamed up with the Southsea parkrun to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NHS!

‘parkrun for the NHS’ is an opportunity for NHS staff to join together with their local communities to acknowledge the huge contribution that the NHS makes to the health of the nation and celebrate all the staff and volunteers, past and present, who have made the NHS what it is.

The event will take place in Southsea on Saturday 8 July at 9am, starting near The Briny Restaurant.

To sign up for parkrun, please head to www.parkrun.org.uk/southsea/

You will need to bring your barcode with you on the day to get a time stamp on the course.

Buggies and dogs are also welcome in the event.

Don’t want to take part in the 5k? You can volunteer to help with the event including, timekeepers, marshals, barcode scanners and token sorting.

You will need to sign up on the parkrun website and then please email Southsea@parkrun.com with your name, barcode and preferred role.
