The Queen Alexandra Hospital is located just on the hill slopes of Portsdown Hill overlooking Portsmouth. It is conveniently situated for both the M27 and A3M.

During your stay in hospital you will meet a number of different members of staff. All members of staff wear name badges, but if you are not sure who someone is or what they do, please feel free to ask them to introduce themselves and explain what they do.
If you have any questions about your treatment, please ask a doctor or a nurse.
There are lots of opportunities for you to get involved with the Trust, from volunteering to attending our public meetings, our Annual General Meeting or our hospital open day which is held every year.

Just inside the main entrance of the hospital, on Level A is the largest hospital shop. This is run by 'Amigo' newsagents and sells daily papers, magazines, sweets, crisps, snacks, cards and other items useful for both visiting or staying in hospital. The shop is open seven days a week with the following opening hours:
Monday to Friday 6.30am to 9.30pm, Saturday 7am to 8pm, Sunday 8am - 7.30pm
Costa Coffee
On Level A, next to Amigo, you can find Costa Coffee selling a range of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, paninis and snacks to eat in or take away. Costa Coffee is open seven days a week with the following opening hours:
Monday to Friday 6am - 11pm Saturday and Sunday 7am - 9pm
There is also a Costa Cart that can be found by the North Entrance on Level C which is open Monday to Friday 6.30am to 7pm, and Saturday 12pm to 6pm.
Lloyds Pharmacy
Our brand new pharmacy for outpatients, run and managed by Lloyds Pharmacy, opened at QA in 2021. The pharmacy, located near North Entrance, includes a retail outlet for patients, visitors and colleagues.
The opening times are:
Monday to Friday: 8.30am to 5pm
Saturday to Sunday: 9am to 4pm
On Level B, the restaurant serves a range of hot food, snacks, drinks and confectionery at competitive prices. The restaurant is open 7 days a week from 7.30am until 7pm and offers the following menus:
Breakfast 7.30am to 11.15am
Lunch 11.45am to 1.45pm
Snack Bar 1.45pm to 4.30pm
Evening menu 5pm to 7pm
On Level B of the hospital, the 'League of Friends' charity run a coffee shop selling teas and a limited range of light snacks. The coffee shop is open from:
Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm
Please be aware that the shop will only be accepting cash payments.
On Level C, next to the North Entrance, the Portsmouth Hospitals Charity Shop sells bric-a-brac, toys, baby clothes, blankets, jams, cakes and puzzles all to raise money for state-of-the-art equipment, facilities and research within the hospital's wards and departments.
The opening times are:
Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4.30pm
The shop is not open at the weekend.

Adjacent to the Amigo shop on Level A is a cash point machine. This is a free cash withdrawal machine and accepts most major bankcards. The service is normally available 24hrs. There is also a free cash machine within the Amigo shop.
A further cash machine is located outside the Level B Restaurant .
