Messages for loved ones and keeping in touch

We recognise the impact that a long stay in hospital can have on families and the importance of maintaining strong communication.  Our ward staff are keeping in touch with patients’ next of kin directly and our Voluntary Services team can help pass on personal messages from family and friends.

Our strategy sets out our vision, values, strategic aims and most importantly, how we will deliver against these ambitions for our patients, communities, and people in the future.

It is not just a document, it is for and about everyone at PHU, building on what we have achieved with a renewed focus on continuous improvement and the need to continue to work together and improve together to achieve our goals.

Pride of Portsmouth Awards 2021: nominations now open

Date: 21 September 2021

POP awards

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust’s (PHU) annual Pride of Portsmouth Awards are a great opportunity for colleagues and members of the public to recognise the fantastic work taking place within the Trust.

While celebrations will again be held virtually this year, we still want to hear from you about how our individuals and teams have gone above and beyond to offer exceptional service and care for our patients, their relatives or carers, or their colleagues.

This year The News, Portsmouth is once again supporting the popular Patient’s Choice Award, which gives members of the public the opportunity to recognise the work of those who have cared for them and their loved ones.

If you would like to nominate a team or individual from PHU for the Patient’s Choice Award, please head to The News website.

The other categories will be nominated for by teams and individuals working within the Trust. These include awards recognising our close ties with the military as well as education and research.

If you are a member of staff at PHU and would like to nominate a colleague or team in one of the other categories, please visit the staff intranet for more information or follow this link.

The deadline for nominations is Sunday 17 November 2021.
