Messages for loved ones and keeping in touch

We recognise the impact that a long stay in hospital can have on families and the importance of maintaining strong communication.  Our ward staff are keeping in touch with patients’ next of kin directly and our Voluntary Services team can help pass on personal messages from family and friends.

After suspending visiting earlier in the year, we are now able to offer limited visiting to some wards at the discretion of the nurse in-charge.”

PHU publishes Quality Accounts for 2022/23

Date: 27 June 2023

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU) today publishes our latest Quality Accounts 2022/23.

The aim of this report is to provide an open account of how we provide quality care for our patients, families and carers. It talks about the pressures we experienced during sustained periods of high demand for our services and puts into context how that pressure can impact patient experience.

The report also highlights our learning from those pressured times and celebrates successes such as the result of our latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, which was 'Good' overall.
