What does compassionate care look like to you? Midwife Zoe Grace is a true example of someone who embodies our Trust values, delivering the best possible care for our patients and communities.
Zoe is an asset to PHU and that is why she has been awarded Employee of the Month for August.
She was nominated by a patient who said; “I was on E8 Ward over Christmas with COVID-19 and 30-weeks pregnant with low foetal movement, and Zoe was one of the midwifes looking after me.
“I was having my check with her when an ITU consultant came in saying my dad (also in with COVID-19) had sadly reached end of life.
“Zoe sat with me while his end-of-life care was going on and until he had passed. She helped me with contacting family, keeping me calm for the baby and comforting me. She made the worst time possible that bit more bearable.”
Yesterday chief executive, Penny Emerit, visited Zoe on the maternity ward to present her with a certificate and to thank her for going that extra mile.
If you have received care from an individual or team and would like to thank them, why not nominate them for Employee and Team of the Month?
