Messages for loved ones and keeping in touch

It is not just a document, it is for and about everyone at PHU, building on what we have achieved with a renewed focus on continuous improvement and the need to continue to work together and improve together to achieve our goals.

A full copy of the strategy can be downloaded here.

There are lots of opportunities for you to get involved with the Trust, from volunteering to attending our public meetings, our Annual General Meeting or our hospital open day which is held every year.

It’s Healthcare Science Week – hear from David Le Poidevin

Date: 18 March 2022

Time: 15:00

David Le Poidevin
The Medical Physics Department is home to a wide variety of healthcare science roles, covering clinical, technical and research. They provide essential services to many departments over the hospital including radiology, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and urology.

As well as providing direct patient services such as radiotherapy treatment planning, nuclear medicine treatments and bone density scanning, they are responsible for quality monitoring and operating complex, specialised equipment used in a wide range of diagnosis and treatment of patients.

David Le Poidevin is a medical physics technician, who can find himself across many different departments including Theatres, Pathology and the X-ray and Scanning Department. He said: “I really enjoy what I do as every day is varied. One day I will be at a computer analysing data or auditing patient radiation doses, the next I will be in an imaging room getting hands on with the equipment.”

Medical Physics falls under physical sciences within the healthcare science professions. Watch this video of David and his colleagues also within physical science roles.
