Messages for loved ones and keeping in touch

We recognise the impact that a long stay in hospital can have on families and the importance of maintaining strong communication.  Our ward staff are keeping in touch with patients’ next of kin directly and our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) can help pass on personal messages from family and friends.

During your stay in hospital you will meet a number of different members of staff.  All members of staff wear name badges, but if you are not sure who someone is or what they do, please feel free to ask them to introduce themselves and explain what they do. 

If you have any questions about your treatment, please ask a doctor or a nurse.

There are lots of opportunities for you to get involved with the Trust, from volunteering to attending our public meetings, our Annual General Meeting or our hospital open day which is held every year.

Issue with Nutricia feed products

Date: 01 June 2022

We have been made aware of an issue with delivered of Nutricia feed products that we know some of our patients rely on. Unfortunately the issue with this delivery means a small number of patients are running out of their supply. If you find yourself in this position over the bank holiday weekend, please contact Nutricia helpdesk on the below numbers:

  • Homeward phone number 0800 093 3671 available: Thursday 2 June and Friday 3 June, 8.00am to 8.00pm and Saturday 4 June 9.00am to 1.00pm. 
  • If you need to contact Nutricia outside of those hours, please call: 0800 093 3672

 

If you are unable to get help from Nutricia then please telephone the Dietitians Department at Queen Alexandra Hospital on 02392 286000 x6150 and leave a message so we can get back to you to and try to source an alternative.
