Jess's Marathon Run For Lifesaving Laser

Jess (pictured middle) will be ran across parts of Germany, Austria and Switzerland on October 7 in a show of support for the Urology Department at QA.

Her Dad, Colin, was diagnosed with bladder cancer in and has been visiting the Department since. He received life saving surgery from the Da Vinci Robot- a £2.4 million keyhole surgery robot funded by Portsmouth Hospitals Charity’s Rocky Appeal.

Jess and Colin are fundraising to further enhance this innovative piece of equipment by raising £5,000 for a Leonardo Mini Laser, a laser that can help to remove tumours. This is where Jess’ mammoth marathon comes in!

Jess ran the 26 mile race in just over 3 hours, and raised over £3,300 for the Mini Laser. Two incredible achievements!

Thank you so much to Jess, who really did go the extra mile for Urology at QA Hospital.
