Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust has launched an online cancellation service for patients to cancel / rebook an unwanted or unsuitable outpatient appointment.All the information required to complete the online cancellation can be found in your original appointment letter.Outpatient Appointment Cancellations:

  • In exceptional circumstances patients need to cancel and rebook their appointment.

  • When patients do not attend their appointments, this results in appointments being wasted and longer waiting times.

  • We recognise that it is sometimes difficult to contact us by telephone to cancel or rearrange an appointment, so have introduced a new service to facilitate this.

  • Using the online cancellation service to cancel / rebook your appointment will allow the hospital to quickly offer the appointment to another patient or rebook a further appointment at an alternative date.

Please note:

  • Appointments booked through the Choose and Book system will need to be cancelled via the Choose and Book website or by contacting the appointment booking centre (details will be on your appointment letter).

  • Appointments must only be cancelled in exceptionalcircumstances.  All cancellations are closely monitored by each department and patients who frequently cancel appointments will be discharged back to their GP.

  • You can still cancel / rebook by telephone by dialling the number on your original appointment letter.
