Disability & Accessibility

The new Queen Alexandra Hospital is fully accessible for people with disabilities.

Doors and corridors are wide enough for wheelchairs, as are the main, north and east entrances. Desks and counters in public areas will have a lower section for wheelchair users.

New signage around the hospital has been appropriately colour coded for people with visual impairment and the lifts have speakers which notify you of which floor you are on.

Parking

There are more than 30 disabled parking spaces at Queen Alexandra Hospital situated in the multi-story car park on level 3 (ground level) and by the North and East entrances. Those using a disabled space with a blue badge can receive a discounted parking rate:

  • If you have parked in the multi-storey car park please leave your clock in your car and when you are leaving the hospital visit the main reception and show the receptionist your blue badge and parking ticket and you will only pay £1.80.
  • If you have parked in a Pay & Display space, please only pay £1.80 into the machine and display your blue badge next to your parking ticket clearly in your car.
