Respiratory Medicine

The department aims to reach out to patients in the community and have developed outreach clinics at Fareham Community Hospital and Gosport War Memorial Hospital. Members of the staff represent local patients on National committees thereby developing National guidelines tailored to the local needs.

The respiratory department is very pro-active and has a very active interventional program providing procedures locally and thereby avoiding patients being referred to other hospitals.

The respiratory department prides in taking part in various clinical trials which gives an opportunity for our patients to have access to new medications by enrolling in clinical trials. The department has an active interest in clinical trials on asthma, COPD and pleural disease.

  • Asthma

  • COPD

  • Interstitial Lung Disease

  • Lung Cancer

  • Pleural service

  • Bronchiectasis

  • Sleep and NIV service

  • Tuberculosis

  • Bronchoscopy

  • Endobronchial ultrasound

  • Indwelling pleural catheters

  • Thoracoscopy

  • Home IV antibiotic service

  • IVIG service

  • Chest physiotherapy services

How can a patient make an appointment?

Through their GP’s, Choose and Book through GP’s and referral from other specialties.

Level C

If you are coming in via North entrance the department is along the corridor on the right hand side

If you are coming through the main entrance, take the lift to Level C. As you come out of the lift turn right and the department is down the corridor on your left
