Wendy Golding – Clinical Trials Dispenser
A little a bit about me - I started my working life as trainee Hairdresser, and then started a family, I then went to full time work to purchase my first house in making sutures in a clean room environment, I was at Cyanamid for seventeen years and did various jobs such as a Lab technician for Microbi, a Sterile Operator for QC and then finally worked as an Administrator for European Artwork. My last 12 years I have been employed by the NHS working in Pharmacy.
What is my role in the Team? - I collect, dispense and label prescriptions, receipt medication on arrival, support my team, leas with other research departments.
What are my interests? - My family and friends, Walking, Gardening, water sports (Kayaking, sailing, Swimming) Days out and Holidays.
Mary Wands – Senior Pharmacy Clinical Trials Technician
A little bit about me - My pharmacy career started as a support worker at St Richards Hospital in Chichester. I qualified as a technician in 2007 and became the senior clinical trial technician in 2010. I joined Queen Alexandra Hospital in July 2012, as part of the new pharmacy clinical trials team.
What is my role in the Team? - I look after the IMP, storage and accountability, make sure records are up to date, help with monitoring visits and deal with queries.
What are my interests? - Cycling, volunteering and fundraising for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and listen to local bands play live.
Keith Yip – Clinical Trials Pharmacist
A little bit about me - Qualified as a pharmacist in 2011 and joined the Research team in March 2015. Various work experience in Somerset, Bristol, York, and East London Hospitals. I grew up in Hong Kong during the 80s, lucky enough to live in Canada and now settled in Portsmouth.
What is my role in the team? - My job title is Clinical Trial Pharmacist. To help support and set up new studies involving the uses of medicines at the Trust.
What are my interests? - My confession as a Foodie with an incredible appetite; I enjoy expanding my cooking repertoire. Like to expand on life experiences- I enjoy cultural differences and to explore different countries.
Badrriyya Mohamedali – Clinical Trials Pharmacist
A little bit about me - I studied Pharmacy in Portsmouth and qualified as a pharmacist in 2010. I completed my training at QAH and have worked at the Trust since qualifying.
What is my role in the team? - I am the Oncology/Haematology Clinical Trials Pharmacist. I am responsible for the set-up of new Oncology/Haematology Trials & ensuring that these are feasible. I make sure that Trials run smoothly and work closely with the research nurses to ensure patients get the best care.
What are my interests? - I enjoy long walks at the seafront, meeting new people and coffee
Nisa Khan – Clinical Trials Pharmacy Manager
A little bit about me - I studied Pharmacy in Manchester and qualified as a pharmacist in 2010. I have worked in various NHS Trusts in the North of England since qualifying and moved to Portsmouth in 2013.
What is my role in the team? - I am the Lead Clinical Trials Pharmacist and have worked on developing the service here at PHT. We’re an expanding team and have plans to grow the service further and develop the role of the pharmacy team within research.
What are my interests? - I enjoy running, playing Frisbee and learning new things.
