VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Caesarean)

Jane Patten and Bernadette Edge are the midwives that run the VBAC service, working as part of the multi disciplinary team to support both women and staff.

Their aim is to improve the quality and consistency of the information given to women who undergo Elective and Emergency Caesarean sections at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.

All pregnant women who have previously had a Caesarean section are routinely referred by their community midwife to the VBAC service and are seen around 20 weeks.
