Messages for loved ones and keeping in touch

We recognise the impact that a long stay in hospital can have on families and the importance of maintaining strong communication.  Our ward staff are keeping in touch with patients’ next of kin directly and our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) can help pass on personal messages from family and friends.

During your stay in hospital you will meet a number of different members of staff.  All members of staff wear name badges, but if you are not sure who someone is or what they do, please feel free to ask them to introduce themselves and explain what they do.

If you have any questions about your treatment, please ask a doctor or a nurse.

There are lots of opportunities for you to get involved with the Trust, from volunteering to attending our public meetings, our Annual General Meeting or our hospital open day which is held every year.

Provide the following IT Services and Support for the Trust:

Service Desk - The IT Department Service Desk logs all calls to the IT department for help with IT problems and requests for other services, such as accounts changes and IT Procurement requests. It also aims to resolve as many IT related problems for users as it can. Telephone support is available between 08:00 and 17:00 Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Procurement - The IT Procurement team is responsible for ordering IT equipment and software on behalf of IT department customers. The team aims to understand fully what the equipment is to be used for and in what circumstances so it can specify and procure the most appropriate, best value-for-money equipment for the job.

IT Training - The team is accredited to Gold Standard by the Learning & Performance Institute and provides a broad range of courses on a variety of subjects at levels to suit everyone, from beginners to experts.

Security - The NHS organisations supported by the IT Department hold increasing amounts of personal identifiable data (PID) on patients and staff. In order to maintain the trust of these people, as well as to comply with legal obligations, it is vital these organisations make sure all PID is used, stored and protected in a safe and legal manner.

IT Projects - provides a comprehensive IT project management service for its customers, whether the project be a major system launch, the replacement of an existing system or just managing the movement of IT equipment.
