The Paediatric Unit is based on A Level at QA, by the main entrance. Services include planned and emergency care for children. The Paediatric service is a large complex District General Hospital service providing acute care for a population of approximately 100,000 children. We care for more than 7,000 emergency medical admissions each year plus planned and emergency surgical conditions. The acute service has a Children's Assessment Unit, two inpatient wards, an area dedicated for Day Surgery and a large Outpatient facility. We are also privileged to have a dedicated Paediatric x-ray department within our footprint. We provide specialised paediatric services and currently have four chronic disease groups with Clinical Nurse Specialist staff managing those services.

Our Minor Injuries Unit is staffed by experienced nurses who are able to treat you. There are no doctors working there. The staff see, assess and treat people presenting with minor injuries, they do not treat people who are unwell or children under the age of two years.
The primary role of the pharmacy department at Portsmouth NHS Trust is to care for patients, by providing the right medicines, ensuring the best use, and providing information and advice about medicines to both patients and to the professionals who treat them.

Out Patient Services are available mainly at QA, however, it should be noted that patients will be booked to see a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with reference to their sub specialism and therefore it may not be possible to be seen in all localities.
The Centre provides a regional prosthetic service to people living in Portsmouth, Southampton, Hampshire and some areas of West Sussex. It is one of over 40 such centres across the UK and is also one of nine enhanced Veterans Care Centres which provide specialist prosthetic and rehabilitation services for veterans whose amputation is attributed to their military service.
