Messages for loved ones and keeping in touch

We recognise the impact that a long stay in hospital can have on families and the importance of maintaining strong communication.  Our ward staff are keeping in touch with patients’ next of kin directly and our Voluntary Services team can help pass on personal messages from family and friends.

Accessing Interpreters 

The Trust currently has a partnership to provide interpretation services with DA Languages who are a leading provider of language services to the NHS, with access to over 450 languages sharing the goal of improving patient experience. A range of interpretation and translation services are available that supports people who require these services. To book these services please let a member of the booking staff know about your language requirements.

Telephone relay translation

You can use our telephone relay service to contact Portsmouth Hospital in the following languages: Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Bulgarian, Cantonese, Czech, Farsi, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Kurdish Sorani, Latvian, Lingala, Mandarin (Chinese), Oromo, Pashto, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Tamil, Tigrinya, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, Yoruba.
