Walk for Wards 2022

Join us on a walk at Staunton Country Park and raise funds for a ward/department of your choice.

 

Walk for Wards is back for 2022!

Formerly known as the WardWalk, Walk for Wards is a great opportunity to raise funds for a ward or department of your choice.

You will have the choice of walking 3 distances: 2.6k, 5k or 10k.

Everybody is welcome, and we would highly encourage you to take part in a team with family, friends or colleagues. Don't forget to include your furry friend as well-behaved dogs on leads are invited too!

This event is free for under 5's.

Every participant will receive free parking, water, a snack and a medal. Anyone under 5 years of age will receive a sticker instead of a medal.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

What distances can I walk?

We have three routes around the country park: 2.6k, 5k or 10k.


Is the route wheelchair or pushchair friendly?

The 2.6k is, however please note that the start of this route is steep.

5k and 10k would be suitable for an off-road buggy but the trail can get very muddy,  especially if there is bad weather before the event.


 Can I bring my dog?

Yes! We highly encourage you to bring your furry friends along, but please make sure they are on a lead for the duration of the walk.


How much is registration?

£5 per person 

£10 per person including a charity t-shirt

No registration fee or t-shirt for under 5's


How much do I have to raise?

We ask that all participants (excluding under 5's) raise at least £30 each.

By fundraising, you're helping to enhance patient care, and support staff wellbeing. Without your support, we can't continue to provide those extras which can make such a difference to our patients' care and treatment.


Collecting sponsorship

The easiest way to collect donations online is through a JustGiving page, you can set one up here.

The registration fee will cover the cost of the event, meaning that all sponsorship raised will go directly into the charity.

How do I get a charity t-shirt? 

Once you have completed your registration form, you will be taken through to Enthuse to make your payment. Here you will get the choice of selecting a t-shirt and size.

We unfortunately do not have any child size t-shirts, but please feel free to purchase an adult t-shirt for your child if you wish.

Will there be photos / videos taken at the event?

Yes, by taking part or attending the event, all participants confirm they are happy for any photographs, video footage or stills taken during their participation in the Walk for Wards event to be used by Portsmouth Hospitals Charity to publicise the event and/or other fundraising purposes including but not limited to, advertising, publications, marketing material and any other documents that may be made available to the public.
