Pathology apprentices first few in the country to pass apprenticeship course
10 July 2019

We would like to congratulate four of our apprentices in the Pathology Department who have recently passed their apprenticeship.

Marnie Winter, Edward Courtnell, Lauryn Bailey and Aaron Sherwood, were among the first cohort to undertake the Level 2 Healthcare Science Assistant apprenticeship and all have successfully passed.

Marnie Winter, Medical Laboratory Assistant, said: “I am really chuffed to have passed. It has been really beneficial and a great experience.”

The apprenticeship took them 15 months to complete, concluding with an End Point Assessment, where an external assessor evaluated each apprentice through observations, a practice test and a professional discussion.

Theresa Farmiloe, Senior Corporate Educator, added: “We are very proud as each apprentice has worked extremely hard. Each of them has passed with flying colours and are some of the first in the country to achieve this.”

Andrew Flatt, Care Group Director for Clinical Support, praised the team. He said: “I am really proud of the team and I look forward to supporting them further.”

Well done team! #WorkingTogether #AlwaysImproving
