This week is National Apprenticeship Week and to celebrate we are highlighting the amazing work of some of our apprentices we have here at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust (PHT).
Chloe Richardson, Learning and Development Administration Apprentice, is currently undertaking her NVQ Level 2 apprenticeship in Business and Administration with HTP Apprenticeship College.
Chloe works on the Education Centre reception where she provides administration support for a variety of courses, including Blood Awareness and Root Cause Analysis. Not only that, Chloe is also responsible for taking room bookings and assisting colleagues with any enquiries.
Chloe’s apprenticeship began in July last year. Chloe says she loves being in the work environment while gaining further qualifications. She explained:
“I enjoy learning new things every day and working with a lovely team of people. I also like the fact that I was able to leave school at 16 to come into a work environment where I can study for a nationally recognised qualification.
“Being able to do a variety of different jobs, meeting the nurses from all over the world and seeing lots of different people every day is what I love about my role.”
Once Chloe completes her apprenticeship in July, she wishes to carry on her career in the NHS and undertake further training to develop herself. Chloe added:
“I love working in the NHS and taking up this apprenticeship has greatly benefitted my career. If you are thinking of taking the apprenticeship route I say do it! You get a year of work experience while earning and learning.”
