Christmas at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust
27 November 2019

The Christmas lights are up throughout the city and the shops are busier than ever, which can only mean one thing…. the festive season is here.

Here at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust (PHT), we know that it can be difficult for our patients and their families to be in hospital over Christmas. There are also patients who don’t have loved ones living nearby and face the prospect of spending Christmas alone. Due to this PHT and Portsmouth Hospitals Charity want to do what we can to bring a spot of festive cheer to our wards and departments.

Over the coming month we have numerous events and activities taking place at Queen Alexandra Hospital including visits from Portsmouth Football Club, the casts of local pantomimes and choirs performing in the main entrance of the hospital. We are also delighted that this year Portsmouth Hospitals Charity and the League of Friends have kindly sponsored a Christmas tree in our main entrance.

We would like to invite patients, staff and the public to visit the numerous choir performances taking place during December in the QA Hospital main entrance and you can find the dates and times below:

Christmas presents

We also know that many local individuals, schools and companies want to kindly donate presents for our patients and staff on Christmas Day so to help with this we have created a handy list of suggested items, which can be found below. To help you in the delivery of any gifts you may wish to donate, we plan to hold a series of drop off sessions from mid-December. If you would like to donate before then, please contact fundraising@porthosp.nhs.uk for more information.
