NHS Walk in centres

Walk-in Centres

NHS Walk-in Centres offer fast easy access to a range of NHS services, including health information, advice and treatment.  

The St Mary's Treatment Centre, the Minor Injuries Unit at Gosport War Memorial Hospital and the Petersfield Hospital Minor Injuries Unit have the facilities to treat minor injuries and illness.

Examples are:

  • Cuts and grazes
  • Sprains and strains
  • Broken bones or fractures
  • Bites and stings
  • Infected wounds
  • Minor head injuries
  • Minor eye problems

Experienced NHS nurses are on hand to treat a range of minor illnesses and minor injuries and you may get seen more quickly in a minor injuries unit that at the Emergency Department where more seriours cases have to take priority. X-Ray facilities are available at these units

You can get advice on how to stay healthy and information on out-of-hours GP and dental services, local pharmacy services and other local health services. 
 
You don’t need to register to use these centres, or to make an appointment.  Patients are seen on a first come first served basis.

No cause for concern Fire Service exercise at Queen Alexandra Hospital on Tuesday 22 May

Staff at Queen Alexandra Hospital would like to make members of the public aware that a Hampshire Fire and Rescue service mass decontamination unit will attend our site for an exercise due to take place on Tuesday 22 May. There will be no live “casualties.”
