Patient and Customer Services

The Patient and Customer Services Team (incorporating PALS) is a free and confidential service for patients and carers.  We can help answer any questions about your experience with the hospital and can offer advice and support for you, your family, carers and friends.
 
We can offer “on the spot” confidential advice if you have queries or difficulties about health and social care services, provide information about hospital services and help you to find other organisations or groups that may be helpful to you.
 
Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust values your opinions and recognises the importance of your experiences and your feedback is invaluable in helping us to continue to improve our services to you.

The Staff of Portsmouth NHS Hospitals Trust are committed to providing our patients and visitors with services of the highest standard. Although we work hard to achieve these standards of service and care at all times, things can sometimes go wrong. Should this happen we want to know and we will do all that we can to put it right and make sure that the same thing doesn’t happen again, to you or someone else. All comments and complaints are taken very seriously and we try very hard to learn from what you tell us.

Contacting the Patient and Customer Services Team (incorporating PALS)

There are several ways in which you can contact our team.  You can drop in at any of our offices (one at each hospital) for on-the-spot advice or support.  Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am till 4pm.
 
You can also write, telephone or email the Patient and Customer Services Team at each of the offices (details below).  When calling please ask to speak to a Patient and Customer Services Team Officer.

Out of Hours

There is an answer phone at each of the Patient and Customer Services Team offices, please leave a message and an Officer will get back to you as soon as possible. In an emergency, or when the Office is closed please ask a member of staff or contact the hospital switchboard and ask for the 'duty manager'.

Have you ever thought about being on a clinical trial

Long gone are the days when being in a clinical trial sparked fear. At Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, patients are given opportunities to take part in clinical trials, in fact when asked, over 90% of patients believe that others should be offered a clinical trial. They are a vital part of learning more about both health and illness, and aim towards making progress for the future.

No cause for concern Fire Service exercise at Queen Alexandra Hospital on Tuesday 22 May

Staff at Queen Alexandra Hospital would like to make members of the public aware that a Hampshire Fire and Rescue service mass decontamination unit will attend our site for an exercise due to take place on Tuesday 22 May. There will be no live “casualties.”
