Ursula Ward said: "We take the cleanliness of our hospital very seriously indeed and enforce a number of policies to keep it clean and well presented for patients, visitors and staff.
We must rely on our patients and visitors to respect our new hospital and adhere to the policies and rules we put in place. Everybody who comes on site has a responsibility to adhere to our no smoking policy, by smoking off site away from the hospital and disposing of their rubbish in the right way. We are very proud of our new hospital and all members of staff are working hard to keep it clean for our patients and visitors and I hope those who do smoke will help us be going off site to keep the hospital smoke and litter-free."

At Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, patients are given opportunities to take part in clinical trials, in fact when asked, over 90% of patients believe that others should be offered a clinical trial. They are a vital part of learning more about both health and illness, and aim towards making progress for the future.
