Phase three of the redevelopment was completed in 2010/11. Improvements have been made to various parts of the buildings not included in the new development, including the Emergency Department and theatres.
This has improved patient experience and means all of Queen Alexandra’s buildings up to a similar standard.
In addition The Wellness Centre is completed and boasts a swimming pool, gym, physiotherapy services and advice on occupational health problems such as workplace asthma, back pain and stress.
A new multi-story car park was opened for Trust staff in June 2010, which has freed up more spaces in other car parks across the site for patients and visitors. There is now a total of 880 spaces for patients and visitors.
Below are some examples of where the work during phase three has taken place. However we are not complacent and will continue to update and refurbish parts of the hospital which need it, to ensure our patients, visitors and staff have the very best experience possible.
