Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust puts its patients first for parking. 

The new Queen Alexandra Hospital has double the amount of previous patient and visitor parking spaces.

There are now 880 car parking spaces for patients and visitors on the Queen Alexandra Hospital site.

These are situated in the mutli storey car park near to the Main Entrance, the North Car Park and by the East Entrance.

The mutli storey car park and the North Car Park are both accessible via Sevenoacks Road off Southampton Road (A27). The car parking spaces near the East Entrance are accessible via Southwick Hill Road.

A recent report by the consumer campaign group Which? has said Queen Alexandra Hospital performs well in providing car parking for patients and visitors. For more information click here

North car park

Follow H signage to Queen Alexandra Hospital main entrance, then follow signs to the north car park.

Spaces near the Emergency Department and East Entrance

Follow the red H signage to Queen Alexandra Hospital. The Emergency Department drop off area can be accessed via the hospital entrance off Southwick Hill Road. Visitors can leave their vehicle outside the Emergency Department for a maximum of 20 minutes. There are signs from the Emergency Department drop off area to the multi-storey car park and the North car park.

There are spaces by the East Entrance which is accessible vial Southwick Hill Road, which are all pay and display.

Disabled parking

There are about 100 disabled parking spaces at Queen Alexandra Hospital situated in the multi-storey car park near the Main Entrance as well as by the North Entrance, Emergency Department and East Entrance.  All vehicles displaying a disabled sticker will only have to pay £1.70 per visit.

Portsmouth City Council is responsible for the issue of all blue badges in Portsmouth, which covers all postcodes between PO1 and PO6. If you live outside of this area, for example in Waterlooville, Fareham or Gosport, you will need to contact Hampshire County Council to apply for a Blue Badge.

The city council is also responsible for the issuing and enforcement of disabled parking bays.

The blue badge scheme provides a national range of parking concessions for disabled people with severe mobility problems who have difficulty using public transport.

It is designed to help severely disabled people to travel independently, as either a driver or passenger, by allowing them to park close to their destination.
