One day to go before QA Hospital opens its doors to the public
03 October 2012

Following the fantastic success of the Open Day held at Queen Alexandra Hospital last year, Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust and its Council of Governors are delighted to announce the date of our fourth Trust Open Day.

On Saturday 6 October, Queen Alexandra Hospital will be giving the public an insight into the services and departments run by Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. The Open Day will be held between 11.00am - 3.00pm.

Peter Mellor, Company Secretary says: “We are looking forward to this years Open Day and hope to improve on the success of previous years. We would be delighted to show members of the public our first class services for patients and our departments. Come and see for yourselves the marvellous work that the hospital's staff do for the people of Portsmouth, South East Hampshire and beyond!”

Behind-the-scenes tours of key departments will take place including Pathology, Cardiology, Radiology and Theatres including a simulation dummy training exercise. Tours such as these offer visitors the opportunity to see at first hand how the hospital is run.

A range of information stands and activities will be on show throughout the hospital. There will be lots of interactive opportunities to test how healthy you are. The ‘signing on’ and starting point for the various tours will be in the atrium at the Main Entrance, A Level.

Have you have ever wanted to know what it is like to work for the NHS? Do you want to ask a doctor, nurse, volunteer about their job? The Open Day will be the perfect opportunity to get some career advice and see the inner workings of our hospital.
