Armed forces day 30 June 2012
28 June 2012

Our Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit (MDHU) colleagues will be supporting Armed Forces Day on Saturday 30 June.

The special day gives the nation an opportunity to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to service families, veterans to cadets.

For further details go to: http://www.armedforcesday.org.uk/

On Saturday our own MDHU colleagues from all three military services will be in the main atrium with an information stall, photos, kit and equipment to showcase their work.

Did you know that military doctors, nurses and Allied Health Professionals from the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force work within QA Hospital treating and caring for NHS patients to hone their clinical skills and deliver the best quality care to HM Forces currently deployed on operations around the world?

Hosting the largest MDHU in the country, the Trust enjoys strong military connections and is proud of this association.  This means that as a Trust, we have wider responsibilities than those of standard NHS organisations. Military staff account for 5% of the total workforce and the Trust has a responsibility to ensure the staff have exposure to the appropriate clinical experience required during their times of deployment throughout the world.

Please show your support by visiting the stand.
