Strokes, and the prevention, treatment and after-care available.
02 September 2010

Patients and their families from Liss, Liphook and surrounding areas are invited to a special stroke care presentation.

The Patient Participation Group for the GP practices in Liss and Hillbrow has organised the event which will include a presentation from Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust’s stroke consultants and a question and answer session.

Information about local stroke services and the causes and prevention of stroke will also be available.

The event will take place on Thursday 16 September from 7.15pm at the Millennium Hall in Liphook, and to reserve a place, you should call or drop into the Newtown Surgery in Liphook or the Hillbrow Surgery in Liss.

Mark Greenwood, Chairman of the Patient Participation Group for the Sedgwick Partners, said: “This event is to inform local people about stroke services in their area and to advise on stroke prevention. We hope people take advantage of this opportunity. It is an excellent example of the partnership developing between the Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Queen Alexandra Hospital, and the local GP’s from Newtown and Hillbrow, as the NHS moves toward GP commissioning.”
