Can I Volunteer?

We welcome volunteers from the age of 16 whatever your sex and background.  There is no upper age limit, providing you are reasonably fit.

People volunteer for a variety of reasons, the reasons being as varied as themselves. Everyone has something to give.

Volunteers are people very much like YOU!

How will I know what to do?

If you would like to volunteer but are worried that you have no previous experience, or perhaps fear you may be ‘thrown in the deep end’.  Don’t worry, provision is made for volunteers to receive help and guidance until they become familiar with the work and ‘geography’ of the hospital.

Once you become a volunteer you will have on-going support from the Voluntary Services Co-ordinator, who will encourage you to contribute any ideas or suggestions you may have to improve our services.

For more information

Contact the Voluntary Services Co-ordinator for an informal chat.  The Voluntary Services Department has a 24-hour voice mail service - if we cannot take your call in person, leave your name and telephone number and your call will be returned promptly.

Thank you for your interest. We hope you decide to join us at Portsmouth Hospitals.
