What is the Referral Process?

Apart from very general information, Portsmouth Pilonidal Centre does not give specific advice about Pilonidal Sinus Disease without seeing the patient.

Patients need to be referred by their General Practitioner (GP).  This can be done by:-

• being sent to the surgeon by name
• being sent to the address below
• via the Choose and Book system

If the patient is out of the area, their General Practitioner will also have to make the referral, having agreed the funding arrangements, and send the letter to the address below.

Upon receipt of the letter an appointment will be made in an outpatient clinic and sent to the patient.

Private patients need to be referred by their General Practitioner as well, but funding does not need to be agreed as either their insurance company or the patient themselves will pay.  Please ring 01428 651232 for details.
