health promotion

|
The benefits of health promotion to employers are improved health and wellbeing of employees, a positive effect on attendance, improved productivity and higher employee morale. Long-term benefits to staff include overall improvement in health, wellbeing and quality of life. Lifestyle changes are normally based around healthy living, which can be connected to diet and physical activity. Using behavioural change models, an assessment is made and a health professional sets small, client focused, achievable goals. In addition to face-to-face support, relevant health education literature is also supplied. Change can be measured objectively and subjectively with support and encouragement throughout the process. Health education can be provided on a number of topics including: men's health, women's health, healthy eating, healthy heart, stress and its effects on health, stop smoking advice, physical activity and weight loss.
