Evidence-based search service and information skills training are provided by Clinical Outreach Librarians to save you time and help you make the most of both print and electronic information resources.
Support is also available to help you keep up to date or if you are doing clinical research.
Information skills training
Clinical Outreach Librarians provide free training on finding high quality relevant information.
Sessions are customised to your needs and can be delivered in your workplace or in a training area at a time to suit you.

Support for keeping up to date
Clinical Outreach Librarians can save you time and effort by helping you keep up with, and avoid overload from, newly published research and regulations.
We can set up for you customised email alerts and RSS feeds based on:
• Key journals of interest
• Major healthcare bulletins
• Relevant websites
• Specific search strategies on healthcare databases
Expert Search Service
Clinical Outreach Librarians provide expert literature search services free of charge to support clinical practice as quickly and cost-effectively as possible for all NHS, affiliated MoD and social care staff in the Portsmouth area.

We cannot carry out literature searches for course assignments but will be pleased to give you some hints and tips to help you do it yourself.
Clinical Research Support
Clinical Outreach Librarians can assist clinical researchers with access to a range of information resources, research guidance and support. We can carry out literature searches, assist with creating alerts and RSS feeds and accessing and obtaining publications.
