Endocrine Nurse-led services:

Endocrinology 2
  • If endocrine dynamic function tests are required, Jean Munday, the department's endocrine nurse specialist carries these out in an outpatient setting. These tests are cordinated and supervised by her while medical input, if needed, is always available.
  • Patients requiring radioactive iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism are referred to the medical physics department at St Mary’s Hospital. After this treatment they are monitored in the Endocrine Nurse Specialist Radioiodine Follow up clinic.

 

  • Nurse led clinics are held for patients requiring injected medication for acromegaly and growth hormone deficiency. 

 

  • Education groups for patients on steroid replacement for Addison’s disease, hypopituitarism and congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
